Nightingale’s Nest knafeh recipe


Today i present you from my kitchen a very delicious dessert called Knafeh it is an origin dessert of the Middle Eastrn kitchen very tasty and have many sorts and fillings as pistachios, cheese and cream.
In palestine we made a Nightingale’s Nest knafeh, knafeh nabulsya, mabromah and arabya.

Today i’ll show you how to make the Nightingale’s Nest Knafeh in easiest way, you need for the recipe the knafeh dough and kaymak cream which you can have on any  Lebanese or Turkish store by the way ( in Turkey they call the knafeh (Qatayef )


Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
200g of knafeh dough
1/2 cup of melted butter
1 tablespoon rose water
A cup of unsalted pistachios
Kaymak Cream tin
For the sugar syrup:
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon rose water
Preparation:
– First, made the sugar syrup in a saucepan, place sugar and water at a high heat until the sugar dissolve in water, add the lemon juice let it boiling until thickening then add the rose water. Let it cool then place the syrup in a measuring cup.
– Second, in a bowl but the knafeh without cutting the bristles, add the melted butter and rose water mix well so that butter reaches all the bristles .
– Third, in a cupcakes mold, take a cup of the knafeh dough and roll in each cup.
– With your fingers made a hole in the middle of the dough, as the shape of a nest.
– Stuff 1 tsp of the kaymak cream in the middle of the dough, then place the pistachios above the cream.

– Bake in a preheated oven at 180° for 30 mins or until golden color.
– Finally, when take off the oven, irrigate the hot knafeh with the cold sugar syrup.
