Pizza Rolls or Pizza Buns

These pizza rolls, or pizza buns, are perfect for parties and family gatherings, or as a delicious dinner for your family. They are soft and mushy, full of pizza flavors, and my family adores them.And the best part about this recipe is that you can fill it with whatever pizza fillings you want. It could be pepperoni, margherita, veggie, tuna, or any other flavor you wish. If you follow the steps in the video, you’ll have an easy and delicious pizza bun ready on your table with simple ingredients available at home.

Ingredients that could be substituted in this recipe:

You can add olive oil instead of butter inside the dough, and you can add any other type of cheese instead of mozzarella cheese. Likewise, you can use simple warm water instead of milk. This recipe is flexible; you can add or remove any other filling. If you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer them.

How to make Pizza Rolls or Pizza Buns? ( full recipe below)

  • In a large bowl add all the ingredients, flour, sugar, salt, melted butter and egg. Knead on a low speed and add the milk and yeast mixture, knead for 10 minutes until smooth elastic dough. Cover and place it in a warm place for 1 hour or until double in size.
  • Dust a surface with flour and roll the dough out.
  • Spread pizza suace and then mozerella cheese, olives and bell pepper.
  • Tightly roll the dough up as jelly roll style.
  • Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a cupcakes pan or in greased 13×9 pyrex pan or baking pan.
  • Brush the top with melted butter and bake them in a preheated oven 180°C/365°F until golden brown, about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

For dough

  • 1 Cup warm Milk
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 4 Cups (500g) All purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg

for filling

  • 40g Soft butter
  • 4 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 200g mozzarella cheese
  • Black olives
  • Bell pepper
  • 2tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon oregano

Instructions

    1. Add the yeast and a teaspoon of sugar to the warm milk, stir and set aside while yeast activated.
    2. In a large bowl add all the ingredients, flour, sugar, salt, melted butter and egg. Knead on a low speed and add the milk and yeast mixture, knead for 10 minutes until smooth elastic dough.
    3. Grease the bowl with the top of the dough, cover and place it in a warm place for 1 hour or until double in size.Dust a surface with flour and roll the dough out into a 15x9” rectangle.

    5. Spread pizza suace and then mozerella cheese, olives and bell pepper.
    6. Tightly roll dough up, starting on the long end, roll the dough up tightly jelly roll style.
    7. Cut off about an inch off the ends of the dough as the ends won’t be as full of filling as it to be.
    8. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a cupcakes pan or in greased 13x9 pyrex pan or baking pan.
    9. Brush the top with melted butter and bake them in a preheated oven 180°C/365°F until golden brown, about 30 minutes.
    10. Serve it warm
