Easy Oreo Truffles – 3 ingredients dessert made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate. Choosing the right chocolate for Oreo truffles makes all the difference in flavor and texture. You can create them with any type of meltable chocolate—milk, white, or dark—depending on your personal taste. Each chocolate adds its own unique character to the truffles, so experimenting with a mix of them can make your dessert more exciting and appealing. For example, you can coat ten truffles with white chocolate and cover the rest with dark chocolate. The combination of flavors looks beautiful and tastes even better. Any meltable chocolate will work perfectly to create smooth, glossy, and mouth-watering Oreo chocolate balls.
Milk chocolate gives Easy Oreo Truffles – 3 ingredients dessert a creamy and balanced sweetness that appeals to almost everyone. It melts smoothly and pairs wonderfully with the crushed Oreo filling, giving the truffles a rich and velvety bite. White chocolate, on the other hand, adds extra sweetness and a lovely vanilla note that complements the cookies-and-cream flavor inside. It also creates a striking color contrast when served alongside darker varieties. Dark chocolate, however, stands out for its bold and slightly bitter taste. Many chocolate lovers, including myself, prefer it because it balances the sweetness of the Oreos and cream cheese filling. In Belgium, we often use a type of dark meltable chocolate called fondu. It works beautifully for desserts and chocolate dips for strawberries and fruits, and it also makes an excellent choice for Oreo truffles.
When preparing the filling, always use cream cheese instead of butter. Cream cheese enhances both the texture and flavor, giving the truffles a creamy, smooth consistency that holds together well. It also adds a tangy note that perfectly mimics the taste of Oreo cheesecake, making the truffles even more irresistible. Butter tends to make the mixture heavier and greasier, while cream cheese keeps it light and flavorful. So, for the most delicious Oreo truffles, combine crushed Oreos with cream cheese, shape the mixture into balls, and coat them with your favorite meltable chocolate. You’ll end up with a batch of irresistible, rich, and perfectly balanced treats.

Ingredients
- 16 Oreo cookies
- 3 Tbsp Cream cheese Room temperature
- 150 grams Chocolate meltable a good taste type
Instructions
- Place the Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin, or pulse them in a food processor until finely crumbled.
- In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with 3 tablespoons of cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until you get a smooth, thick, and uniform batter.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the batter for at least 2 hours. Chilling helps it firm up, making it easier to shape into balls.
- Scoop about one teaspoon of the batter and roll it between your palms to form a small, even ball. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking tray. Repeat until all the batter is used.
- Chop the chocolate into small pieces to ensure it melts evenly. Melt it in the microwave in 1-minute increments. After the first 30 seconds, pause and stir the chocolate, then continue melting for another 30 seconds. If any lumps remain, microwave in 10-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy.
- Using a fork or dipping tool, gently dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off. Place the coated truffle back onto the parchment paper. Repeat for all truffles.
- Chill the chocolate-coated truffles in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate hardens.
