Prep Time 20 minutes mins
Chill time 3 hours hrs
- 16 Oreo cookies
- 3 Tbsp Cream cheese Room temperature
- 150 grams Chocolate meltable a good taste type
Place the Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin, or pulse them in a food processor until finely crumbled.
In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with 3 tablespoons of cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until you get a smooth, thick, and uniform batter.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the batter for at least 2 hours. Chilling helps it firm up, making it easier to shape into balls.
Scoop about one teaspoon of the batter and roll it between your palms to form a small, even ball. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking tray. Repeat until all the batter is used.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces to ensure it melts evenly. Melt it in the microwave in 1-minute increments. After the first 30 seconds, pause and stir the chocolate, then continue melting for another 30 seconds. If any lumps remain, microwave in 10-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy.
Using a fork or dipping tool, gently dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off. Place the coated truffle back onto the parchment paper. Repeat for all truffles.
Chill the chocolate-coated truffles in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate hardens.
