Treat Yourself and Your Loved One to the Perfect French Toast Roll-Ups with 2 Fillings
Start your day with something truly special, French Toast Roll-Ups filled with two delicious combinations that are sure to bring smiles to your breakfast table. Whether you’re making breakfast for yourself or surprising your partner, this quick and easy recipe is the perfect way to add a touch of sweetness and love to the morning.
Ready in just 20 minutes, these roll-ups are ideal for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, your partner’s birthday, or simply a cozy weekend brunch. They’re crisp on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside, and absolutely bursting with flavor.
For the fillings, I’ve chosen two of my favorite combinations. The first is a classic and refreshing mix of cream cheese and raspberries. If you don’t have raspberries, strawberries work just as well and taste just as amazing. The second filling is a rich, indulgent blend of Nutella and banana a match made in breakfast heaven!
What Kind of Cheese Should You Use?
For the creamy filling, opt for good-quality cream cheese. The kind you’d use in a cheesecake works perfectly, mascarpone or Philadelphia are both excellent choices. I personally used mascarpone in this recipe, and it turned out incredibly smooth and flavorful.
These French Toast Roll-Ups with 2 fillings aren’t just delicious, they’re beautiful, customizable, and surprisingly easy to make. Serve them with a dusting of powdered sugar, a drizzle of maple syrup, or some extra fruit on the side for a complete and eye-catching breakfast plate.
Try them once, and they’ll become your go-to breakfast treat for any day that deserves a little extra love.
Tips for successful French Toast Roll-ups:
To get the best results crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, follow these simple but important tips:
- Use a rolling pin to gently but firmly flatten each slice of bread before adding the filling. The bread should be thin and flexible, which helps it roll up tightly and cook evenly.
- Quickly dip each roll-up in the egg and milk mixture, just enough to coat it. Soaking for too long will cause the bread to absorb excess liquid, making the roll-ups soggy and hard to crisp up.
- While a bit of butter adds flavor and helps with browning, too much can make the roll-ups greasy and prevent them from crisping. Use a light coating or wipe off excess butter with a paper towel between batches.
- Toast the roll-ups over medium heat, turning them gently to ensure all sides are golden and crispy. Don’t rush this step, getting that perfect golden crust adds the ideal crunch to contrast the soft, creamy filling.
