Best Homemade Pizza

My best homemade pizza recipe is even better than the one i used to buy. It is rich of flavours with a lovely and delicious crunchy crust and a delicious mushy dough. I tried many pizza dough and this one is the best and even easier. The ingredients is very simple but the secret of a good pizza is the dough consistency and the heat of oven. The dough must be soft and elastic to give you the best result, also the heat of oven must be as hot as possible to give the crunchy crust and the mushy inside. I made my pizza with margarita style but you can make your own filling such as vegetarian pizza, sea food pizza, pepperoni pizza, or any other flavours you like.

 

Tips to make the best homemade pizza:

  • Knead the dough for 15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Dust the dough with flour or grease it with olive oil.
  • Cover and let the dough ferment in a warm place.
  • Extend the dough with hands as the desired thickness.
  • I use a normal baking sheet to bake my pizza if you have pizza stone, would be better.
  • Don’t over put tomato sauce to your pizza.
  • Dust semolina gives the crust extra crunch.
  • Bake pizza in a hot oven.

What kind of flour to use in pizza?

Use a good quality of a plain flour or all purpose flour fo a good result, some people use corn flour but honestly i never tried it on my pizza.

Yield: 2 Pizzas
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Ferment time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp semolina
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 125g Mozzarella cheese
  • Basil leaves

Instructions

    1. In a measuring cup melt sugar and yeast in the warm water, set aside until ferment.
    2. In a large bowl or in a mixer bowl place flour, olive oil and salt. Add yeast water. Knead the dough with hands or place hook attachment on your mixer and knead a low speed for 15 minutes.
    3. Divide dough into 2 balls, dust with flour or grease with olive oil. Cover and place in a warm place to ferment for 1 hour.
    4. Extended pizza in a baking sheet with hands, add tomato sauce a drizzle of olive oil, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese and basil leaves.
    5. Bake in a hot oven 220C-420F .for 10 minutes or until golden crust.
    6. Cut into 8 Pieces with pizza cutter.
