Homemade crispy French Fries – Best French Fries

For a successful Homemade crispy French Fries, try to buy the rough and dark outside potatoes peels with a few water from the inside. Since i live in Belgium and french fries is one of main dishes, i find this type of potatoes easily and they write on it ‘Fritte’, But here i tried to give you a good instruction so you can be satisfied of the result.
Also, one of the reason why potatoes turn mushy that some people place the potatoes early in a cold oil and not waiting to let the oil get hot enough, and this is a main reason why it turned mushy. Potatoes should fried in a hot oil and with a depth enough to cover the potatoes fingers with oil so it turned crispy and delicious.

Homemade crispy French Fries – Best French Fries
Prep time: 10 mins Cooking time: 10 mins Total time: 20 minutes
Yield: 2 persons
Ingredients:
- 3 Large Potatoes
- 1 TBSP Vinegar (use any type)
- 1 L water
- Vegetables oli
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Choose to buy the rough and dark outside potatoes peel, and with few water from the inside. This type is perfect for french fries.
- Peel of potatoes, then cut it into long fingers.
- In a large bowl with water add vinegar, soak potatoes into the water for 5 minutes.
- Drain all the water in kitchen strainer.
- Place Potatoes fingers on a kitchen towel to dry and get rid of extra water.
- In a hot oil with 180°C , Fry potatoes fingers just until half cooked french fries, then remove from oil and cool it for 10 minutes. (You can store and freeze your extra potatoes for next time at this point)
- Fry back the cool potatoes in a hot oil until golden crispy outside.
- Drain from extra oil. Salt to taste.
- Serve it with your favorite sauce.
