Raisin Orange Cake
The orange Raisin cake that everyone loves is easy to prepare and rich in the taste of fresh orange flavour. This time i add a delicious raisins, If you like raisins, add them and add other dried fruits with so you’ll have a delicious fruit cake.
I enjoyed it with my family in our tea time, also they loved it and so i decided to share the recipe with you so you also can enjoy it.
How much orange to make this recipe?
It depends on the juice inside the orange fruits, it took two large orange fruit to fill 3/4 cup of orange juice but before i squeezed it i peeled to take the zest take only the orange peel, the white would be bitter.

- Butter
- eggs
- Sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Baking powder
- Orange juice
How to make orange raisin cake? (full instructions below)
- Soak raisin in a warm water for 30 minutes, drain and well dry from water, set aside.
- Cream butter with sugar, add eggs one at a time.
- Sift dry ingredients together, add it into two phases to the mixture with orange juice.
- Mix until soft cake batter.
- Dip raisin in flour, add to cake mixture and give a quick mix .
- Bake it and enjoy it.
One and half cup of sugar seems to be too much, can i add 1 cup instead?
yes, you can add one cup of sugar, or add more sugar to your cake, it will not affect this cake final shape but ofcour the taste 🙂
I mixed between white raisin and black raisin, you can use one type of raisin. Also it must well drain and dry raisin from extra water

NOTES
- The raisin must well drain and tossed in a flour ,so it won’t sink to the cake bottom.
- Take only the orange color zest avoid the white peel it will gives the cake a bitter taste
- Make sure all the cake ingredients at room temperature.
- Don’t open the oven while baking the cake.
Raisin Orange Cake

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 Cup raisin (mix)
- 180 grams Soft butter room temperature
- 1 and ½ Cups granulated sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2 and ¼ cups All purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking powder 15 grams
- pinch of baking soda
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- ¼ Tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp orange zest
- 3/4 Cup Orange juice 200 ml
INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak raisin in a warm water for 30 minutes, drain and well dry from extra water, set aside.
- Grease cake mold with butter, then dust with about 1 tablespoon of flour, set a side.
- Take the only orange peel zest of two orange fruits, then squeeze to have 3/4 cup of fresh orange juice.
- In a large bowl cream butter with sugar, add eggs one at a time with vanilla extract and salt, whisk until a smooth batter.
- In another bowl, sif flour with baking powder and baking soda.
- To the dry ingredients add the orange zest, mix to flavour the flour.
- Add the dry ingredients with orange juice into two phases to the eggs batter.
Whisk until smooth cake batter. - To the raisin add ½ tablepoon of flour, toss the raisin with flour.
- Add raisin to the cake batter, and give a quick mix to distribute in the mixture.
- Pour the cake mixture in a prepared cake mold.
- In a preheated oven, Bake at 180°C / 365F for 45 minutes.
- When out of oven, allow to cool on wire rack.
- Decorate with confectioner sugar.
